At Life At Best Development Initiative (LABDI), we believe that the sound of school bells must never be replaced by the sound of gunfire, and that the right to learn should never be buried under violence, displacement, or anti-educational norms. Therefore, today, we join the global humanitarian community in commemorating the International Day to Protect Education from Attack.

Our commitment is unwavering: we work to ensure schools remain safe spaces where children and teachers can thrive. Through strategic partnerships with humanitarian actors, security agencies, and government institutions, we continue to advocate for and safeguard learning environments that foster resilience and hope.

But the threats to education go beyond armed conflict. Climate change—through floods, droughts, and extreme weather—has forced school closures, destroyed learning infrastructure, displaced families, and pushed countless children out of classrooms. These realities deepen existing vulnerabilities and widen the gap in access to quality education.

For us, this day is more than commemoration. It is a call to daily action: to stand against every form of attack—be it conflict, climate shocks, or systemic neglect—so that every child, everywhere, has the chance to learn, dream, and build a better future.
